Load Balancing Routing Protocol for single-layered Satellite Networks

单层卫星网络负载平衡路由协议

摘要:

要在卫星网络中进行信息交换,首先需要解决路由问题。由于人口分布不均匀,全球卫星用户群分布差异较大。用户群分布差异导致了一些卫星节点和星际链路十分空闲,而另一些则严重过载。为实现全卫星网的流量工程,提出了一种新型的应用于单层卫星网的基于移动代理的负载平衡路由协议LBRP-MA(Load Balancing Routing Protocol based on Mobile Agent)。通过在类Courier星座中的仿真表明LBRP-MA协议能够实现有保证的端到端时延、低丢包率和高吞吐量。LBRP-MA协议特别适合于单层卫星网重负载情况下的数据传输。

Abstract:

The routing is the most prominent issue, which should be solved firstly to support information exchange in satellite networks. Due to the varying population density, the communities of satellite users exhibit a significant variance in its density over the Globe. This density variance will lead to overutilization of some satellites and related links, and underutilization of others. To ensure an intelligent engineering of traffic over satellite networks, a novel routing algorithm for single-layered satellite network, Load Balancing Routing Protocol based on Mobile Agent(LBRP-MA), is presented in this paper. Through simulations on a courier-like constellation, the proposed approach is shown to achieve guaranteed end-to-end delay bound and reduce packet loss ratio with better throughput, and is especially suited to data transferring in case of high traffic load in single-layered satellite networks.
